The story of this project began with a coincidence - in the winter of 2017, artist Nastasiia Lelyuk went home to Luhansk with her mother to make an exhibition of her friends' works. At that time, the city had been under occupation for 4 years, and "going home" meant the need to get an entry permit, go through checkpoints, stand in lines, and so on.
After the opening, the exhibition remained in the artist's apartment and seemed to be suspended in timelessness. The story seems absurd, but it retains a deep meaning - the desire to be in a place that was stolen from you.
"Nobody. Nowhere. Never. Far Away!" is an exhibition dedicated to the lost and at the same time a way to be together with our present and future. Through memories and small gestures of approach, a return to places that have been embedded in the bodies of many since birth and where it is now impossible to get to is affirmed.
Participants of the exhibition: Ksenia Buryka, Tamara Turlyun, Victoria Rozentseig, Olya Chikalo, Eva Kafidova, Maria Stoyanova, Clemens Poole and Dmytro Chepurny.
Curators: Nastasiia Lelyuk, Natasha Chichasova.
The exhibition is part of the project "DCCC: We Work" and is supported by the Academie Des Beaux-Arts.
