As I became familiar with the Nemyriv settlement, I was deeply struck by the formation and self-sufficiency of this space- a landscape already shaped by human presence. I felt compelled to sustain the primordial dialogue between people and nature, using the language and materials offered by the site itself.
We spoke of the barely perceptible silhouette of the Myrka River; of stones that still carry the memory of Scythian times; of poppies blooming where blood was once shed. I tried to listen attentively, leaving only subtle marks on the site’s pulsating body. They vanished as quickly as the weather shifted that day.

Continuing my dialogue with the site, I turned to weaving as a physical form of interaction. This technique, one of the oldest ways of transforming available materials into new structures, allowed me to explore connection through making.
In one instance, the act of binding separate elements into a whole formed a bridge that could not be crossed- yet it functioned as a barrier, physically preventing a car from entering the monument site. In another, the woven structure revealed a path leading toward the top of the hill.

I intervene in nature, and nature intervenes in me. My body is vulnerable — it, too, is part of the fragile, visible world. And it is meant to be so.
